The Pyrenees form a natural border between this part of France and Spain. The high peaks and slopes of the Pyrenees are ideal for skiing. They attract a lot of Ski enthusiasts from around the world. The Ski resorts are popular tourist centers, and in high season, the populations swell to double the local population. The resorts are decked up with all the installations to satisfy the tourist requirements. As the Pyrenees are within an easy distance of Girona, there are a lot of tourists who head for the tourist resorts situated there:
La Molina Ski Resort:
This ski resort dates back to almost a hundred years. It was here that the first Ski lift in Spain was installed, the introduction of snow canons, and the first 4-seater chair lift. It has facilities for all kinds of skiing activities, for all levels of proficiency. It has become a family vacation spot as there is something here for every member of the family.

• Vall de Nuria
In winter Vall de Nuria becomes a welcoming family ski station equipped with all services such as: the ski school, gear hire, children’s snow park, medical service, etc.
Vall de Nuria also gives you the chance to go cross country skiing, on snowshoe outings, and to do all the activities characteristic of winter in the high mountains.
