As part of this collection, there is an illuminated copy of the Commentary of the Apocalypse of the Beato de Liebana (10th century) and a statue of the Catalan King Pedro el Ceremonioso (12th century). There are quite a few museums in Girona. The historical and cultural developments of the region are on display through the collections of the museums. There are four museums in the city of Girona and one in Figures; at some distance from Girona.
‘The Creation Tapestry’ –dating from the 12th century- is on display in a glass case here. This exquisite piece of tapestry is still intact and one of the best piece of Romanesque textile art in Catalonia.
